Catalyst offers a unique program for junior and senior high students, combining the biblical teaching of AWANA with special events, alternating between service projects and social activities.  We meet during regular AWANA times (Sundays 5:00-6:45 pm) and use AWANA books for Scripture study. Junior and senior high students are together for worship, prayer, announcements, and games, while lessons and scripture memorization are age based.

Catalyst exists to glorify God, in keeping with our core values:
  • Bible Based: Catalyst uses AWANA curriculum as the basis for bible study, scripture memorization, teaching, and discipleship. We want our students to become confident in their knowledge of scripture, not only through memorization, but through discussion, questions, and application.
  • Prayer Powered: Prayer needs are to be a part of each meeting, and our hope is that through regular bible study and mentorship, each student will come to fully recognize his or her need for God’s guidance, comfort, and power and will develop a daily time of personal devotion to God.
  • Family Focused: Understanding the primary responsibility and privilege of discipleship belongs to parents (Deut. 6, Prov. 22:6, Eph. 6:1-4, Col. 3:21), Catalyst leaders come alongside parents in a support role. We maintain open communication, and parents are encouraged to stay connected and join us during any meeting or activity.
  • Body Building: Catalyst is a place where every student is welcome. We encourage each one to discover and develop his or her gifts, serve the body, and glorify God as He leads. Recognizing the teen years bring new challenges, one of our goals is to foster godly, lifelong friendships and mentoring relationships to support and hold one another accountable to follow Christ’s example.
  •  Mission Minded: In addition to supporting our AWANA missionaries, Catalyst also sponsors several service projects each year (locally); overseas mission experiences are also encouraged and supported (globally). Our desire is for our youth to recognize the role we all play in fulfilling the Great Commission, both at home and throughout the world.
