Fundraising Efforts

Dear Friend of Waxhaw Bible Church,

For more than 30 years Waxhaw Bible Church has been one of the hidden gems of our local community here in Mineral Springs and Waxhaw. In the early 1980’s several families gathered together, outgrew a home and began meeting throughout downtown Waxhaw: in the strip on Main Street as well as what is now South Providence School. In the 1990’s God provided land on the border of Mineral Springs and Waxhaw, where our campus currently sits, on the corner of Waxhaw-Indian Trail Road and Pleasant Grove Road. For most of those 30 plus years WBC has been the church home to long-time Union County families, many missionary families connected with Wycliffe and JAARS, as well as new families to the area coming to us from all over the country who are establishing new roots here in southern Union County. We have seen God’s provision over the years through the construction of our main building, the acquisition of our modular buildings and so much more. But, as with anything, time has a way of creating new needs for our campus. Between the age of our buildings and the growth of our community, both on Sundays and throughout the week we find ourselves at an exciting point of needing new space to accommodate changes in our ministry. Primarily, our modular buildings, which were old when we acquired them, need to be replaced to appropriately handle our Christian education
efforts, our AWANA program and our partnership with several Homeschool co-ops. On Sunday mornings, we currently have more than 120 people regularly attending Sunday School classes, well over 100 kids every Sunday night in our AWANA and Youth program, and throughout the week we have about 300 kids and parents that gather here for their homeschool communities. This need has brought us to the place where we are looking for partners throughout our community to join with us in helping us fulfill this dream of reaching and serving our community at 6810 Pleasant Grove Road. That leads us to our strategic plan moving forward which are captured in these four initiatives:

Four Initiatives
1. To offer Mineral Springs, Waxhaw, Wesley Chapel and surrounding communities a warm, inviting and intimate space to learn about, worship, and glorify God corporately.
2. To create an exciting space for our thriving AWANA and Youth program serving children ages 3 through 18.
3. To continue our partnership with local homeschool communities and further our work with them by constructing suitable space for children to learn throughout the week.
4. To provide an affordable and functional multi-purpose space for community gatherings, parties, weddings and receptions; with a complete kitchen, and bathroom accommodations.

And, this is where you come in: Would you consider partnering with Waxhaw Bible Church first by praying for us as we move forward in faith with these plans to build a new building? Second, would you be willing to partner with us financially by giving a tax-deductible gift to the church? There are so many ways to give; but, some out of the box ideas would be, year-end charitable donations, corporate gift-matching, tax refunds, or personal fundraisers donated to the church. Certainly, throughout our community there are many worthwhile places to give; we’re simply asking if you might consider Waxhaw Bible Church as one of those destinations. With the help of an architect and general contractor we estimate that this project will ultimately cost around $2 Million. Our plan is to break ground Spring 2021. We are confident between the members of our church body and partnership of our family, friends, and community God will provide the monies needed to bring this project to completion so we can continue to serve our local community here in Mineral Springs, Waxhaw and surrounding areas. All donations can be sent directly to the church at 6810 Pleasant Grove Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173. Once again, 100% of the donations for the building fund will be used for the planning and construction on our campus to complete our four initiatives. Finally, would you consider finding a friend, co-worker, neighbor, or business that you might offer them the opportunity to partner with us in this endeavor?

Thank you again for your time and consideration. May the God of heaven and of earth bless you as you consider partnering with us on this exciting adventure.

Blessings,
Vincent Yurksaitis
